Beach Regions

Though each of the countries in Central America has a unique “hot” and “cool” season, all the countries follow a similar pattern of attracting the most tourists either during the winter months, school vacations, holidays, or some combination of the three. While regional temperatures stay pleasant year-round, tourists should travel in rainy seasons (usually in late summer or early fall), and along the Caribbean seaboard during the hurricane season. But a great number of beaches plays the crucial part in the choice of tourists’ trips. The main region for visiting is Costa Rica due to its airport and hotels. While most international flights land in the capital, San José, there are also international flights to Liberia. If you plan to spend your time in the northwestern part of Costa Rica you may stay here. For most of Costa Rica, San José is the best choice. Due to the local geography the tourist operators do not recommend driving over the mountains at night, they suggest you spend at least your first night in San José hotels. With its cosmopolitan flavor and comfortable temperature, some people choose to spend several days in the capital city. Many tours are available from San José hotels. From the long list of recommended hotels in San José you can select one that fits your budget and taste. The best surfing is over on the rougher Pacific side, particularly Costa Rica's Peninsula de Nicoya. Central America has many mountain ranges, which are interesting for tourists; the longest are the Sierra Madre de Chiapas, the Cordillera Isabelia and the Cordillera de Talamanca. Between the mountain ranges lie fertile valleys that are suitable for people; in fact most of the population of Honduras, Costa Rica and Guatemala live in valleys. Valleys are also suitable for the production of coffee, beans and other crop. There are a lot of hotels in these valleys.
